The Stolen Place
One of the remarkable events in Christiania’s recent history was the uprising against illegal weed dealers. One night, a group of residents barricaded Pusher Street with shipping containers, which, by morning, had been pushed aside and turned into canvases for the grumpy self-expression. The old Christianites were grateful that no one was harmed that day. It took about eight months to finally drive out the pushers, with the active support of the Copenhagen police.
