A Land Made of Flight

This photo project documents the Curonian Spit — a 98-km sand-dune peninsula connecting Russia and Lithuania on the Baltic coast, one of Europe’s most important bird migration corridors, and the scientists working to protect it from large-scale construction plans. Damage to such a place can disrupt the migration system that links ecosystems from the Arctic to Africa.
